Silent Warriors

49ers Frank Gore celebrating with his olinemen

Offensive line is a unique position that is played by unique individuals.  What makes the position so special isn't the unselfish personality that is required to play it but the level of selfishness that is required to be good at it. You may want to read that last sentence over because it's a complete oxymoron that has to be properly digested.  The complexity of it sounds like…

Montrae Holland Leading the Way

I just posted a note on Montrae Holland and this was the result of his hardwork.  The NFL is all about timing and for Montrae to be able to immediately step in as a starter is a true testament to his professionalism.  But to be able to step in as a starter then have your offense put up record numbers on the ground is a testament to much more.

Just My Thoughts

I look back over my football career and I have internal debates with myself over what was the official year my professional career ended.  The last officially sanctioned football game I played in was the 2006 NFL Pro-Bowl as a New Orleans Saint.  Following that season, I signed a free agent deal with my hometown Cleveland Browns but never had an opportunity to play in a game due to a knee injury and severe complications from a Staph infection.  The three years I…
