Dodo Birds Can't Fly

As it’s well storied, I am a big fan of power.  One of the purchases I made outside of a home with my first NFL check was a Cadillac Escalade EXT with super charger, new exhaust system, computer chip and Brembo braking system.  I had it tested on a dynamometer at a little over 680hp.  It wasn’t until I thought it was a good…See More

May The Force Be With You

Anybody that has read any of my musings in the past understand several key principals I center my philosophy on offensive line play around.  First and foremost, if you aren't tough, move to defense. Secondly, If you believe being fat  isn't a hinderance to your performance, move to defense. Lastly, the idea of…See More

The L.Bentley O-Line Academy Training Results and Approach

There are many ways to attain results within the world of athletics.  What I have come to realize, not all of them are right and not all of them are wrong. Many trainers purport themselves to be the founders or "gurus" of a particular sect or method of athletic development, they are all full of shat. There are many very…See More

Force - Velocity Curve and Body Composition

In terms of sports performance, body composition could very well be the most critical indicator of success versus failure.  There are several subsets of performance enhancement including but not limited to flexibility, strength, nutrition and conditioning.  It has been my experience in dealing with athletes that each of…See More

NFL Pro - Day Report (Ohio State)

“I just wanted to come out here and show more consistent footwork in my pass protection,” Fragel said. “I really feel more comfortable after working with LeCharles out in Arizona the last three months.”Fragel only took part in position drills after performing well in tests at the combine, including doing 33 bench press reps to…See More

Suckered By Success

I consider myself a highly blessed individual in many instances but having the opportunity to spend my time around ultra competitive individuals is one of the blessings I am most thankful for.  I’ve always been very interested in people, although I’m not naturally inclined to be what’s popularly known as a “people person”.  My…See More

Popliteus Performance

Dealing with large athletes on a daily basis, there are several mechanical trends that present themselves. Most of the athletes I work with are offensive linemen, which present a host of position-specific injuries such as elbow issues and other mechanical flaws such as poor posture.  Much of the time, these trends are also…See More

Chicago Bears - Taylor Boggs

I'm extremely proud of Taylor Boggs, former Humboldt State center that has spent almost two years out of football and was recently signed by the Bears.  His dedication to realizing his dream is as inspiring as any "rags to riches" type story there is.  The level of commitment it takes to maintain focus and…

Hey LeCharles, I'm sure you get these kinds of questions alot, but I need help on my diet and I'm hoping that you'll be able to help me as you know the importance of being a lean lineman. I am a 6'0" 276 pound offensive guard. Last year my playing weight was about 260-265. I do not have a problem with being heavier, but I noticed that I let my diet go and I've gained alot of fat. I was wondering if you could help me with dieting so I can reach my goal of losing 10-15 pounds of fat by August. (Goal playing weight is 260) Any help is very much appreciated.
