Would like to know everybodys thoughts on strongman type training for lineman. In my opinon, I believe that it is a useful way to build functional strength and increase the athletes overall GPP (general physical preparedness)

It depends on the age / exercise/ where we are in our strength program.  I like to use it in the off season to break up the workouts. I also like to use it as a way to compete in the spring time. In the summer I also like to use it during our Power Agility Speed workouts (tire flips sand bag throws). I am a little conservative on some things. I only let the JR, SR use the tires because they are so big, I have my younger athletes use the Power Blaster because it keeps their backs in a good position.
