Guys - just curious - how much time do your TE's spend with OL during practice? Let's say you run the ball 75% of the time - about how much time do you have your TE's work with OL during practice?

Thanks

At my last position we were a spread team, utilizing a TE. The TE spent 15 min of indy time with the OL. Additionaly, they were with the OL for all run game parts.
I would say that is all depends on the type of offense that you run. I know offenses that run heavily, the TE stays with the OL for the majority of practice. The good rule of thumb is to have the TE trained like a receiving OL. He should know how to block most of all and the routes would be secondary.
Our TE are with the line unless we are working on the TE passes. They have to be able to block first. The OC will sure let you know when they are not making the blocks. That when I tell them well then dont take them away from me so I can teach them :-)

Thanks Allen. I agree. In our offense they make alot of the key blocks. All I can do is keep trying. Take care
