I have been the starting center for my team since january, and i don't have any excuses for why i did'nt start training earlier. But i really wanna improve my strenght(and overall athletesism), so if anyone could help me, with making a wourkout schedule for me. I'm 16 years old, 5'8, and 220 lbs(part fat, part muscle). We don't have the best gym, but it looks like it's good enough.

i would also like to improve my technique as a center, does anybody have tips or drills to help me make my snapps faster and more precise.

Tristan,

It is a matter of controlling the volume of work that you do. You should never take strength training away from your routine, but monitor it's effect on your recovery. Performance is what is important in season. The strength training is an aid to keep you injury free and strong. I have a template I have used with my athletes that has been successful. Although, everyone is different so we tweak it here and there.

Hey, so my season starts on Saturday, and I can not wait. But I have a question regarding weights training. Obviously I don't wanna be sore on game day due to going hard in the gym, but should I be pulling back on the weights and just doing maintenance kinda stuff, or should I still be aiming to increase my lifts and push myself during the season like I do in the pre season? Or should I cut weights out all together and focus on fitness and technique?

I need help making a workout routine. Im 16 6ft tall 250(Not a fat 250). I want a routine that is best for offensive linemen. I play Right guard
Bench 225.

Make sure you outside foot is the first thing to move on the snap. Film yourself and make sure you aren't shifting your weight or "loading" on the snap. Also, some guys can get back quicker with 2 shorter steps instead of a big single step. Try some different steps and have someone time you to see what is quickest for you.
