I'm looking for a good diet that I can get on that will help me cut some weight but still give me the energy I need to continue working out on a regular basis.  I know I need more protein and less carbs.  I'm currently 6' 3" and 322 lbs and turn 16 2 weeks.  I was hoping to be a lot closer to 300 and ideally about 285 but after at a doctor's visit yesterday I found out I need to change my diet.  I have several big DI football programs looking at me and I'd like to be slimmed down by the time I show up for my unofficial visits this summer.  I'd like to be at my ideal weight by the beginning of the season.

Any help is much appreciated.

Good stuff Lecharles.

I realized I never answered your question. When I started I lost close to 20 pounds. Went from 320 to right around 300. Now I'm up to 305 but I think it's all good weight. I'm stronger than ever, and definitely am in better shape. Conditioning has been no problem for me whereas I used to be the guy who barely made the times if at all. I have no issues with energy either. My goal when i started was less to drop weight but more to drop body fat. The next test is friday to see what that is. I started at 18% I'll be happy if it's down to 16%. Choosing to go this route has paid off immensely so far. Hopefully it all translates to a good season

Why is skim milk worst?

Keith,

Because there isn't any fat to process that aids in mitigating the insulin spike.  It's straight sugar (lactose) that can actually make you fatter AND stress the pancreas.
