I am going into my senior year in college and I was looking for different pre-game chants and such that any of you have used to get your team hyped before a game.
Let me know what you guys have used.

Honestly, playing to emotions is dangerous and our program strives to remove emotional reactions from our players... preparation means there is no need for emotion. I would suggest searching for an inspirational story of theme that you can use to redirect focus towards your goals as a unit and a team I would give you a suggestion to look up the story titled "Finding Garcia." This is a story from the turn of the 19th century about doing a job and getting the task completed. When times get tough or situations get sticky during a game I would remind my players to FIND GARCIA from the sidelines. This being a simple reminder to do their job and not give excuses, ask why, or even how... just get the job done.

We preach playing with attitude-we always do things a little great tempo and with enthusiasm....we love playing with attitude.....but you are completely right you do not want to get too hyped up either. The pregame game and post game hype ups get the kids excited about the game and the kids love the chants it is their favorite part....but I coach youth football, so it is a little bit different than high school or college.....with kids everything has to keep moving, upbeat, and fun or else we will lose the kids focus.
But overall I am with you on this....I just keep the super hype up stuff for before and after we win. We keep it pre game and post game.....sometimes during half time if my kids are sleeping.
See my philosophy and the philosophy of every Coach I have had, which are some pretty successful ones, like to have their players play with emotions. I am not saying out of control emotions but Football is an incredibly emotional game, and if you can play with controlled emotion then you will play your best football. I have been on a team (when I was a freshmen) that just showed up was confident in themselves but had no emotion in the game, and they were good but not nearly as good as they could have been. I understand and respect your preparation approach but I also would prefer to be excited and intense while I play the great game of football.
