I'm going into my junior year at around 5'11 255lbs and ive been doing everything possible to get stronger and faster, but I'm wondering if it's feasible at all for someone my height to continue into college  football. I've frustrating to have something out of my control limit me.

Josh,

Your height will limit you as much as you allow it!  There's nothing stopping you from becoming the best YOU can become.  With that being said, some schools won't recruit a lineman under 6' and that's just the way it is.  But there ARE plenty of schools that have good FB programs that are in need if quality players regardless of height.  The university of Wisconsin, they have a type of player they like as well as other major programs but 1AA,D2,D3 usually aren't as discriminating. True story, in high school a coach from Michigan came to my high school during my senior year.  I was called out if class to meet this guy, I walked in and he took one look at me and said, "too short" then looked away.  I walked back to class and never got an offer from them.  Fast forward 4 years to my rookie NFL season, the SAME coach was a coach on Tampa Bay's staff.  He saw me as I walked out of the tunnel during pre game and apologized to me.  It didn't stop me from whooping ass that game tho! The moral of the story, focus on what you can control and life works out the rest!!

Thanks for the motivation! I know it's all about how you play, but like you said, some schools just don't recruit under 6'. However, how many schools really do recruit under 6'? I'm going to keep training to be the best I can be but the height has always been a question on my mind.

The best Offensive lineman I played with at Humboldt State (Division 2) was 5-10 270 and he started 42 games in his college career.  The best defensive lineman I faced in college was 5-9 275.......Neither one of them cared about their size because they were too busy DOMINATING!!!

I played at th division 2 college of eastern new mexico. A great guard we had was 5'11" and 270 lbs and benched 475 and squatted almost 700. He beat out much bigger guys some verybstrong also because of his technique and intensity on the field. He had a chip and dared you to knock it off by his actions not words. His low pad level and exploding low under guys pads led him to even hold off john randle who played for the vikings and our own michael sinclair that was all pro for the seahawks! He never went on to the next level but i truly think if given a chance he could have impressed someone to make a roster in cfl and maybe nfl. So go get em josh! I was grateful to have that bowling ball next to me!

I would just say start getting work at Center or Guard if you are not already playing that...You can go as far as you want playing there... Good luck on the upcoming season!!
