Can someone explain to me in as simple terms was possible what Gap On Backer means?

Assume your talking to someone who's never even played Middleschool level when your explaining it.  I've been trying to understand it as it will probably be the rules we bring in this year for our o line.

Thanks guys

I've never heard of it. Within what context is it used?  So many coaches come up with their own "coach speak" that it can be confusing, so I understand how you could be lost.
What I'm really looking for some simple universal blocking rules to implement this year for dives and l
Fb leads for plays run between tackles.  I've found and worked out rules for outside sweeps and inside powers/traps but trying to run inside especially when there is a down linemen in the hole.
Whatever system you tell me, could you please explain it as simply as possible.

Thanks

Back 2000 years ago when I was a freshman in high school we used this rule. It goes inside gap player gets blocked first, then man on, then the linebacker over you. Some wing T teams still use this rule.

To piggyback what Tim has written some identified the Gap as the playside gap threat (def. lineman).
